Remarks: In 1877 a new mill at Maccan belonging to Thompson and Bennett was completed. The building was 30 x 81 feet, powered by a locomotive engine. It had rotary saws and trimmers. A siding one and a half miles long from the Intercolonial Railway to the mill was constructed.
